Session 1 –Introduction and overview

 

Living Faith Today (LiFT)

LiFT is a discipleship programme designed to develop participants’ appreciation of their faith. It provides an introduction to Christian studies which will serve as a foundation for future ministry.

 

By the end of this course you will:

  • Be grounded in appreciation and experience of prayer as the foundation for all Christian life;
  • Understand the relationship of scripture, reason, tradition and experience in the development of Anglican Christian faith and its contemporary expression in Aotearoa, New Zealand and Polynesia;
  • Grow in relationship with one another and with our Tikanga Rua partners in God’s mission;
  • Value and learn from the variety of experience and views encountered on the course;
  • Appreciate the significance of collabo- rative styles of ministry;
  • Reflect on your own calling in the light of theological study, and identify future pathways;

Have acquired a range of study skills relevant to undertaking future and ongoing theological study such as EFM (education for ministry).

How long is the course?

The course will run every Tuesday evening (during school-term time and from May to November) from 7.00pm to 9pm.
