All Anglican Churches in North Taranaki are part of the Paraninihi Archdeaconry. Traditionally priests and deacons within an archdeaconry would meet monthly, with a separate meeting for laity (those who were not ordained) less often.
Our Churches have experienced several changes in the last two decades; less paid clergy and more who are locally based and work voluntarily, increasing numbers of laity who take on roles of significant responsibility within their parishes and ministry units, particularly where there is no official ‘priest in charge’ (The Archdeacon fulfils that role).
Therefore, it is necessary to develop a more flexible format for meeting together. The information on the next page is the result of considerable prayer, planning and consultation. The monthly activities are open to anyone within our parishes/ministry units who wishes to be involved. If you have any questions or need for clarification, please contact Jacqui.
