Peter Facey Hoskin arrived on the William Bryan and married Mary Lye whom he had met on the voyage. Peter set up a blacksmith’s shop and he and his wife ran a liquor and general store selling groceries, haberdashery and fancy goods. The two children interred here died in the Diptheria epidemic of 1861.
