St Mary's, New Plymouth has been a place of worship and pilgrimage for over 150 years; but the 6th March 2010 will herald the beginning of a new phase in the life of this church – as a remarkable event is going to take place. St Mary’s will become the World’s Newest Cathedral.

People from all corners of the globe are preparing to be part of this new and unique adventure. But what’s in a name? What is the difference between a Church and a Cathedral?
