Our Dear Friends; The dean, the Very Revd Jamie Allen and the community of St Mary Cathedral, brothers and Sisters in Christ:
Greetings in the Mighty name of our Lord Jesus Christ who lives and reigns for ever and ever Amen!
My hope and prayer that everyone celebrated the Easter event and the victory of the risen Christ. Let us all say together with Angel that "Christ has risen, he has risen indeed." I write to wish you God's blessings that his peace may abide with you now and for the rest of the year, the peace that his Cross bears witness to the whole world. This time I have been thinking so strongly how Jesus entered his last moments with amazing peace. With serenity he watched his enemies trying to make all excuses to persecute him. They made a crown of thorns, scourged him severely, nailed him with big force and lastly pierced him with a spear.
His mouth did not utter any cursing words, and his face showed extraordinary peace, especially as he pronounced forgiveness to all humankind. Where on earth can we see such spirit? This is what John 3:16 mean: that, this is how God so loved the world that he gave his only Son and whoever believes in him should not perish but will have eternal life." Indeed the Cross is the power of God, the vivid picture of how much - how far he loves us. May this love touch you in this Easter time to make your life a source of peace and love.
Lilian, children and I, were with you spiritually and we have been thinkin of you over the last three days. We have been praying for you especially we were close with you during the good friday as you were deeply in our prayers at that moment of remembering Jesus' suffering. I have been working hard throughout this last three weeks as this chapter is due on 19/4/10 and it is an important part of the biblical section, it requires lot of reading including biblical language. It is an important section since it will give me the direction of my work for this year. It is real hard work, howeverr, the Cross of Jesus teaches us the power of faith, serenity and hope. "We live by faith not by site."
Our dear Friends, we miss you and real love you, we thank God for bringing St Mary into our lives! We have continued to enjoy the support of St Mary's Cathedral for our studies here at St John, and still trust and hope there will be a strong and long relationship between St Mary and the Anglican Church in Tanzania for God's mission work. With God all things are possible!
May God richly bless you at this time of resurrection and the victory over death and as we wait his second coming in glory
Thanks
Given, Lilian, Ihewa, Ilumbo and Amani
